Roanoke Valley – Alleghany Adult Education offers programs for adults, 18 years of age or older, who desire to improve their English skills or who desire to complete their high school education. Programs include classes for English Language Learners (ELL) and GED Preparation and Career Readiness classes. English as a Second Language (English) classes include speaking, listening, reading, and writing as well as math. GED Preparation and Career Readiness classes focus on mastering academic skills addressed on the four GED® tests: mathematics, reading and language arts, science, and social studies.
Region 5 serves the counties of Alleghany, Botetourt, Craig, and Roanoke and the cities of Covington, Roanoke, and Salem. Classes are offered in a variety of well-known and easily accessible locations during the morning, and the evening. Adults may begin class at any time. Instructors are well-qualified.
